Hey, has anyone installed a polaris x 10 skid into there vmax4? Am i correct in thinking that i have to use a stock lug length track? Any pointers most apprecated.
Thanks

A buddy of mine in MN put an X 10 in his 93. Told me it went pretty well & he is happy with it for his riding.
I did a 04 RX-1 skid back in Jan 07 & have been very happy with it. Since mine is the ST, there was a bit of work.
Now regarding lug hieght, if your keeping the chain case in the stock location, the tallest lugs I think are 1.250 without going to smaller drivers or cutting the lugs were the heat exchangers are going to hit. I know there are those who have gone with the 2" lugs but there was a lot of additional "clearence work" reqd. I went with the 1.250 Camo predator track & no issues at all. I am sure some other guys can chine in here with there results. Good luck with the conversion.

Thanks for that Rob, thats what i figured with the track. l got the skid and track of a mate. l am going to fit the skid for this season, and do a 'drop and roll' next off season. lf i dont hear otherwise, from some of the other members, l will take a template from the sled it came of and using the drive shaft as the start point, lay it out from there. The only thing i havent figured yet, is how to get the angle that the skid sits in relation to the ground right.
Could you ask your mate, if there where any pitfalls that i can avoid, it would be most apprecated.
Cheers

I will give him a call tomorrow & ask him how he laid it out. I know he said it went pretty easy.

Talked with my buddy Tim re the X10 install.
He was going to go thru his notes & see if he could find what he did exactly.
He did say that he used the stock fron mounting & then moved the rear holes, he thought around 3/4" towards the back. He also made an angle bracket to drop the skid down a bit to lift the rear of the Max up a bit.
Also, he used aluminum spacers since the Vmax tunnel is wider the the X10 skid. He had posted his stuff on the old site & is checking if he still has a couple pics.
I will keep you posted.
