Howdy: If you go with a set of Wiseco Proline pistons ( which I highly recommend) and you do all the Labor yourself (except for the prep of the cyls.), you're probably looking at approximately $600. But, don't quote me. Any more costs could result from getting the Nicasil Cylinders prepped as you want the new Rings to seat/seal properly to ensure maximum compression and long life. Wiseco Pistons if properly maintained, will last a good while. I just sold a Sled that was rebuilt with Wisecos 8 years ago and it's still got 120 lbs. in all cyls. and had 135 right after rebuild. Only thing with Wisecos is that you must let them warm up by idling especially if it's been really cold or it's been sometime since you ran it. These are forged not cast Pistons and as such, they expand with heat very Slowly unlike Cast Pistons. So,if you do use them, warm them up and run her under 6,000 rpms for the first 1/4 mile and they will last you forever. Good Luck, Rob.

My question is suspension. I have a 1992 vmax4 vx 750 with the original suspension. I found out after a week of sledding it had idler wheels needing to be replaced with shocks. I would like to know upgrading suspension of which might be the most visible way to have a little more travel. thank-you mike.

The rear shock on my 93 was replaced with a new one ( Cost = $250 ) just before I bought it this Winter so, for what it is, it rides ok but, it could still use some Improvement. I have seen a few Sleds on Ebay with aftermarket Suspensions in them and they not only look CQQL, I'll wager a weeks pay they definitely ride better. One had an ARC and the other was an earlier Model of A.D. Boivins. I'd go with the ARC myself which looks like it has way more travel then you'll ever need to use on a Big Old Quad! I think I saw another One with an Xtra-12 Polaris rear Skid fitted in there and it should do a fairly good Job as well. Not as good as the ARC but then, it would be a lot cheaper too. Good Luck with whatever you decide to use. Ciao 4 now, Rob.
